During the first stop of his visit to Puerto Plata, his excellency Mr. President Luis Abinader took a tour of the Ocean World Adventure Park & Marina water park accompanied by its owner Stefan Meister, where he was shown the details of how they prepared for the reopening with the implementing sanitary protocols, as well as details of their future projects.
“Your presence honors us and renews our strength to continue working for a speedy recovery of the tourism industry and the country,” said Mr. Meister.
The President fed and took photos with the love birds, watched the show with the dolphins, and met the sea lions. Through the tour he greeted and interacted with the visitors of the park who had the opportunity to take photos with the president.
He was accompanied by the Administrative Minister of the Presidency José Ignacio Paliza, the Administrative and Financial Vice Minister of the Administrative Ministry of the Presidency Igor Rodríguez and the main authorities of Puerto Plata, Senator Ginette Bournigal, Governor Claritza Rochtte de Senior, Mayor Diómedes Roque García Núñez (Roquelito) and the deputies Jhonny de Jesús Medina Sánchez and Julio Emil Durán Rodríguez.
The facility restarted its operations last September with exhaustive hygiene and distancing protocols, for which it was certified by the Ministry of Labor through the General Directorate of Industrial Hygiene and Safety for satisfactorily complying with the implementation of the recommendations established for the tourism sector in order to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
Ocean World Adventure Park & Marina is located in Cofresí just 10 minutes from the city of Puerto Plata and is one of the main attractions on the north coast. It has the largest dolphin habitat built by man, its interactive programs promote the rapprochement between people and different marine species.
