Ocean World Adventure Park hosted the Platinum members of the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) during their visit to Puerto Plata. Each year, this institution organizes an event aboard one of its affiliates cruises with the aim of fostering closeness between its members and sharing industry trends.
The cruise selected this year was the Carnival Sunrise with a call at the port of Amber Cove. The official tour was Ocean World Adventue Park.
The group arrived at the park’s facilities where they were received with a Dominican party that included the presentation of a merengue dance by the Adventure Team and by a delegation of local artisans and producers who showed them the process of rolling tobacco and carving fossil wood crafts.
Each visitor had the opportunity to take a guided tour of the Tropical Forest and the habitat of exotic birds, see the shows of sea lions, dolphins, birds and sharks, take bachata lessons and enjoy a typical Dominican buffet lunch that included the traditional dished: bandera and sancocho and a mamajuana and coffee station made in a traditional colander.
“It has been a wonderful experience to share with so many influential professionals in the industry and to be able to proudly show the beautiful destination that is Puerto Plata, which our recently deceased founder Mr. Ludwig Alfred Meister envisioned to become an important cruise destination” said Diego Tripaldi, Regional Director of the company who was part of the group.
The Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) is a not-for-profit trade organization composed of 21 Members Lines operating around 200 vessels in Floridian, Caribbean and Latin American waters. It was created in 1972 with the mandate to provide a forum for discussion on cruise operation, tourism development, ports, tour operations, safety, security and other important issues of the cruise industry.
